Jalama Beach Recreational Areas

Jalama Beach is one of Southern California's most treasured recreational sites. Pristine California sand, great waves for surfers and lots of wind action for the very popular sport of wind-surfing. Jalama has hosted major events for wind-surfers and remains one of the top destination sites for the sport.

How to Get to Jalama Beach

First, remember that your road to Jalama crosses a California ranch and that means wildlife! As you journey across the ranch, remember to look around for foxes, wildcats, coyotes and cattle. This is pristine California countryside with lots to take in during your drive. OK - now the directions if you are traveling from the South: Take the 101 freeway north approximately 30 miles to PCH 1(Pacific coast highway 1), then exit north on PCH 1 to (exit sign says "Lompoc & Vandenberg AFB"). Travel approximately 15 miles to Jalama Road. Take Jalama road, and 14 miles later, you're here. And from the North: Take [put whatever the road is here] until you reach [whatever the turn might be] then blah blah until you get to Jalama Road. Take Jalama road, and 14 miles later, you're here. Note: if you get wet, you've gone too far.
